Garda investigation after man dies following road collision in Meath

A man has died following a road collision shortly after midday today.

The victim, who was in his 50s, was seriously injured when his vehicle was in a collision with another car. Nobody else was injured.

The crash occurred at approximately 12.20pm today on the southbound carriageway of the N3 north of Kells, Co Meath.

The man was rushed to Navan Hospital but was pronounced a short while later.

The road was closed to facilitate a full garda forensic examination.

Gardai in Kells are investigating and have asked anybody who may have witnessed the collision to contact them at Kells Garda Station on 046 928 0820 or on the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
