Gardaí carrying out search for missing woman discover body in undergrowth

The remains - which are yet to be identified - were discovered shortly after 2pm

GARDAI carrying out a search for missing woman Linda Christian have found a woman's body this afternoon.

The remains of the woman - which are yet to be identified - were discovered shortly after 2pm in an area of undergrowth between Clonsilla Road and Snugborough Rd in Blanchardstown, Dublin.

The scene has been preserved and the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau have been notified.

The body remains at the scene.

The woman has not yet been identified and a cause of death has not been established.

Gardaí first issued an appeal for missing woman Linda Christian on July 3. She was reporting missing since June 23 in the Blanchardstown area.

The 29-year-old is described as being 5ft 3, of slim build with long brown hair and green eyes.

When last seen, gardaí report her to be wearing a green bomber jacket, blue jeans and carrying a pink gym bag.

Gardaí renewed their appeal on July 5, and said gardaí had a "genuine concern for her wellbeing".

They issued two more appeals recently and said Linda’s family and An Garda Síochána are very concerned for her welfare.
