CONCERN is growing for Australian tourist William Tyquin (85) who has gone missing while on a driving tour of Ireland.

Mr Tyquin arrived in the country on July 4, and was last seen checking out of a B&B in Birr, Co Offaly, on Saturday.

On his arrival in Ireland, Mr Tyquin hired a black Hyundai rental car registration 12D 22135.

"We believe he has some health complications," said Sergeant Cormac Moylan of Athlone garda station. Gardai described Mr Tyquin as being 5' 6", with grey hair. He was recently seen wearing cream-coloured trousers, a grey T-shirt and sandals.

Gardai are appealing for anyone who sees the car, or Mr Tyquin, to contact Athlone station at 090 6498550, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
