Four people arrested for post office robbery in Louth

Gardai have arrested four people in connection to a post office robbery in Co Louth in May 2016.

Three men (30, 33, 42) and a woman (23) were arrested in the Louth area on Monday for the robbery of the post office in Clogherhead, Co Louth.

A number of premises were searched this morning in the Drogheda District in connection with this investigation.

Three men, one in possession of a firearm, entered the Post Office at Clogherhead on the May 3 2016, threatened staff and fled the scene with a large amount of cash.

No injuries were reported.

They are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended at Balbriggan, Dundalk, Drogheda and Navan Garda Stations.
