Five-year-old boy dies after his bike is struck by a car

A five-year-old boy has died after a car collided with his bike in Belfast.

A man is critically ill in Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast after an accident involving a car

The incident crash happened in the Rosehead area in the north of the city at around 9am on Wednesday morning.

The child was taken to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children but died as a result of his injuries.

It's understood the crash - which involved one car and a bike - happened between the Crumlin Road and Oldpark Road.

Police have appealed for any eyewitnesses to come forward and contact them on 101.
