Firefighters respond to fire at hospital carpark as van bursts into flames

A van burst into flames in a hospital carpark this afternoon causing damage to a number of nearby vehicles.

The incident occurred at Letterkenny General Hospital at approximately 1230pm this afternoon.

Fire services and gardai responded to the blaze at the Co Donegal site.

Plumes of smoke can be seen billowing from the scene as firefighters attempted to put out the fire.

A garda spokesperson told independent.ie that the fire may have been caused by an electrical fault.

There have been no reported injuries as a result of the incident thus far.
