Three units of fire fighters attended the scene in Parnell St minutes after receiving the call at around 9am this morning.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus spent 40 minutes at the scene searching the smoke logged building.

A small fire at the site was quickly extinguished, according to a DFB spokesperson.

Firefighters used a positive pressure fan to clear the building of smoke.

There were no reported injuries as a result of the incident.

Motorists have been advised that there are minor traffic delays in the area as a result.
