Fire fighters battle blaze at disused building in Dublin's city centre

Dublin fire brigade are battling a blaze in a disused building in the city centre tonight.

Several fire officers are still at the scene at the blaze on Ushers Quay.

Four units of the DFB were dispatched to the scene following a 999 call, which was logged at around 8.30pm this evening.

Units were dispatched from Dolphin's Barn station and the fire brigade headquarters in Tara Street.

Officers were forced to use a water tower system to control the fire.

It is understood that there was nobody in the building when the fire broke out.

The incident is on-going.
