The 31-year-old was last seen in College Road, Cork City, at around 6am last Friday.

He is described as being 1.7 metres tall, of medium build with short dark hair.

When last seen, he was wearing a black V-neck jumper, black tracksuit bottoms and grey pointed dress shoes.

A family member last night told the Irish Independent he was celebrating the New Year with friends before his disappearance.

"We'd ask anyone with information, no matter how insignificant they think it is, to contact the gardaí. We're extremely grateful to the gardaí for the efforts they have put in already.

"Obviously the family are extremely worried.

"It is completely out of character for him to go 48 hours without contacting his family. He's doing his final year studying finance and is an active member of Clyda Rovers GAA club in Mourneabbey."

Anybody with information is asked to contact the Bridewell Garda Station on 021-4943331, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
