Dublin will host a 'celebration of physics' during a month-long festival of science in the capital.

It follows on from the success of the 'DART of Physics' campaign.

This new initiative has been launched to encourage as many people as possible to explore the 'beauty' in this part of the scientific world. It will run across a four-week period, from October 26 to November 19, with a high-profile awareness campaign on public transport.

Organised jointly by TCD, UCD and the Centre for Research on Adaptive Nanostructures and Nanodevices, a series of posters will feature an array of insightful quotes, accompanied by various illustrations by Irish artists.

Pictured at the launch of the festival is Dr Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin, School of Mathematics & Statistics, UCD.
