Dramatic scenes in Dublin City Centre as man arrested after bid to unfurl banner across GPO

This was the scene in Dublin's city centre as a protester tried to unfurl a banner across the GPO.

Supporters and members of the Real Productive Health and Workers' Solidarity Movement were at a rally yesterday voicing their support for a woman is who is currently being prosecuted over the alleged supply of an abortion pill to her daughter.

The case is taking place in Northern Ireland.

Some 200 protesters took to Dublin's City Centre yesterday calling for the charges to be dropped.

At least one protester was arrested by gardai.

It's understood members of the group attempted to unfurl a banner across the GPO.
