Discovery of body in River Liffey not being treated as suspicious

Gardaí are not treating as suspicious the discovery of a man's body in the River Liffey this morning.

Officers from Store Street station were called to scene near Tara Street after the remains were spotted by a member of the public at approximately 10.15am.

Dublin Fire Brigade Water Unit recovered the body which was then handed over to gardaí for a full forensic examination.

The cause of death has not yet been identified and attempts are underway to identify the deceased person.
