Cyclist tragically killed in collision with tractor named locally
A cyclist who was tragically killed after a collision with a tractor has been named locally as Annette Mannix.
Annette (40s) was cycling with a group of friends on the Killarney bypass in Co Kerry on Wednesday evening when the accident happened.
She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor, who was towing agricultural equipment, wasn't injured.
Annette, who lived in St Brendan's Place in Killarney, is survived by her mother, four sisters and extended family and friends.
She acted as carer for her mother.
Annette was a keen cyclist and a member of Killarney Cycling Club, who have since cancelled events as a mark of respect.
Gardai are appealing for information and anyone with any information is asked to contact Killarney Garda Station 064-667 1160, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
