Irish cycling star Nicolas Roche climbed the highest mountain yesterday when he tied the knot with Spanish beauty Deborah Robles.
The 31-year-old, who played a leading role as a "minder" when his Sky team mate Chris Froome won this year's Tour de France title, posted a picture of the newlyweds on his account today following today's ceremony in Monaco.
Speaking after, he said: "So so happy about today! Many thanks for the support and all those messages."
He admitted earlier this year that the wedding planning was more difficult than anything he has experienced on the saddle of a bike.
"The wedding is a big thing and although it is stressful it's also a way for me to disconnect from the pressures of the peloton," said the son of former and Giro d'Italia supremo Stephen Roche.
"When I'm at home in the evenings thinking about the wedding and calculating if I've ordered the right amount of flowers for the table, or the technical details of who is coming or not coming, it's nice because my mind just wanders off to thinking about my honeymoon," Nicholas told the Sunday Independent last month.
