If you were out on the town last night instead of sitting in front of the box, your weekend might be about to get a whole lot better.

One lucky Lotto player won the €2m jackpot in last night's draw - a sizeable amount for a gamble of just €4.

The quick pick ticket that held the winning numbers was bought from a Centra vendor in Co Limerick mere hours before the draw began.

"We don't know who has won it yet but there's a good buzz around at the moment," Centra supervisor Louise Cusack told independent.ie.

"The shop is getting a bit busy now and everyone is wondering if the winner is a local or was just someone passing through."

Another €4 quick pick was the successful sole winner of the €350,000 Lotto plus 1 draw.

The ticket was bought in Treacy’s Service Station in Portarlington, Co. Laois yesterday.

There was no winner of the Lotto Plus 2 draw.
