Carrey carries coffin of Irish ex-girlfriend who had 'so much left to give'
An emotional Jim Carrey helped to carry the coffin of his Irish ex-girfriend Cathriona White as she was laid to rest in her native Cappawhite, Co Tipperary.
The actor was among the hundreds of mourners who gathered for the funeral Mass of Ms White (30) at Our Lady of Fatima Church at the weekend.
"She is at peace," Ms White's stepsister Sarah told the congregation. "There is no easy fix for grief, particularly when we have lost somebody so young with so much left to give."
She said it was "unimaginably difficult" for the family to experience another loss after the death of Ms White's father Pat in 2012.
"Love is not as fickle and unpredictable as life is. As long as you are loved, you are still here. And you are so loved," she added.
Gifts brought to the altar included a Tipperary jersey in memory of the "very vocal" GAA supporter.
Following the Mass, Mr Carrey (53) helped to carry the coffin of Ms White to the graveyard a short distance away.
Ms White's death at her Los Angeles home last month is being treated as suicide by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.
