Boy (13) in a critical condition after swimming accident

THREE young teenagers have been rushed to Temple Street Children’s hospital after they got into difficulties while swimming.

The accident happened in the Waterville Hall residential complex in Blanchardstown, close to the James Connolly Memorial Hospital shortly after 6.15pm

It is understood that a young girl got into difficulties in the water and that another girl and a boy (13) came to her assistance.

Paramedics were called to the scene and all three teenagers were taken from the water.

The two girls are now stable in Temple Street Children’s Hospital while the boy is in a serious condition. He is in intensive care.
