Skeletal remains have been discovered during Luas works outside Trinity College on Dublin’s College Green today.

Gráinne Mackin, Director of Communications for Luas Cross City, said the bones were found about 1.5 metres deep.

She said that on first visual inspection the bones appear like historic human remains.

They may date back to medieval times, she said.

The scene has been cordoned off and will be examined by archaeologists.
