EUROVISION Song Contest winner and outspoken drag queen Conchita got the party started for the 2014 Dublin Pride Festival yesterday.

The 'bearded lady' from Austria gave her first performance since her Eurovision victory in May at Dublin's premiere gay bar 'The George' last night.

And, she quipped that it was in payback for the support she got from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community in Dublin ahead of her breakthrough performance in Copenhagen.

"They supported me all the way, without the Eurovision win and without really knowing who I am," she told the Irish Independent.

Unfortunately, the singer, real name Tom Neuwirth, will not be able to attend today's parade due to other commitments.

The parade kicks off at 1.45pm at the Garden of Remembrance and along O'Connell Street before finishing at Merrion Square.

There will be more than a dozen floats and 72 separate contingents taking part.
