New York parade chief provides food for thought
THE contribution of Hilary Beirne, New York City's St Patrick's Day parade chief, at the recent 'Made in Ireland' conference provided food for thought.
He spoke of how a staggering $800,000 (€600,000) is raised for the parade in New York each year, how no advertiser or social/political movements are allowed partake and underlined the importance of forging relationships with the media.
Launching the new 'Ireland Inspires' cultural strategy 2012-2016 at the event, organisers are eager to speak to Irish people involved in the arts in the UK. They are asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or call 020 7520 3134.
