ANOTHER serious weather alert has been put in place following the devastating storms that tore through the country this week.
As insurers braced themselves for a €20m bill, forecasters warned of a turbulent outlook for the busy weekend.
The most violent storm of the year battered Ireland on Wednesday, with Met Eireann issuing a red weather warning -- its highest level of alert.
"We have an orange warning for strong winds after a yellow warning for winds today," Met Eireann's Pat Clarke said last night. "We are going to get some wet and windy weather with strong gusts in some coastal areas."
