New TD of the Year
Plenty of young turks to choose from now there's a phalanx of sharp-suited new TDs running around Leinster House and trying to change the world.
Eoghan Murphy: Fine Gael's new flag-bearer in the leafy suburbs is mistakenly put down as a posh boy who wandered into politics. Not so. Articulate speaker, retains a sharp political mind, broad depth of knowledge, with the patience to know it's a long game.
Peadar Toibin: Speaks like a Fine Gaeler, looks like a Labour man, but is actually a Sinn Féin TD. He's an articulate and forceful speaker with genuine economic nous. Ministerial material if his party ever grows up.
Derek Nolan: Not as outspoken as some of his Labour Party colleagues, the baby-faced protégé of Michael D is quietly brimming with ambition and appears to be well on track for ministerial office.
And the winner is ... Eoghan Murphy, one to watch.
