New maternity hospital set for Vincent's site
The National Maternity Hospital's move from Holles Street to the grounds of St Vincent's has been confirmed.
An agreement has been reached which has ended the bitter row that has held up the building of a modern maternity hospital in Dublin.
Health Minister Simon Harris announced the breakthrough last night.
The cries of the first baby to be born at the new National Maternity Hospital should be heard by 2021, when a modern new facility would open its doors, the master Dr Rhona Mahony said last night.
"It will be a very welcome sound," she said.
