THE Road Safety Authority (RSA) has dismissed claims that it has had to reject hundreds of driver licence applications because of technical difficulties with its new system.
Motorists have been faced with delays of up to three weeks waiting for their new EU-style plastic licences from the RSA, which took over responsibility for issuing the new licences in January through its National Driver Licence Service.
Kerry County Council has claimed that almost 50pc of the applications it sent to the NDLS for processing were rejected.
However, an RSA spokesman said it was "nothing in the order of 50pc" and insisted the issues were now resolved and appealed to people not to contact their local motor taxation offices as their new licence was on the way.
