New LGBTA network launched by Irish Defence Forces

The Irish Defence Forces have officially launched its new 'Defend with Pride' LGBTA network.

Earlier today Vice Admiral Mark Mellett DSM, attended the official launch.

Speaking at the event the Chief of Staff highlighted the importance of diversity for both personnel and the organisation, stating: "The provision and fostering of a diverse and inclusive workplace environment, reflective of Irish society is our Moral Duty and, for the Defence Forces, it means better decision making, better agility, better resilience."

The network aims to provide support, information and guidance for all LGBT Irish Defence Forces personnel.

It is part of the Defence Forces involvement with GLEN's Diversity Champions Programme.
