New arrival at the Mansion House
DUBLIN'S 'first citizen' has become the first serving Lord Mayor for more than 30 years to have a child while in office.
Lord Mayor Naoise O Muiri and Lady Mayoress Fionnuala Keane welcomed their baby girl, Caoilfhionn, into the world at the National Maternity Hospital in Holles Street, Dublin, shortly after 9am yesterday.
Weighing 8lb 4oz, she is only the fourth baby known to have been born to a serving Lord Mayor, and the first since Sinead Mitchell was born in 1976 to Lord Mayor Jim Mitchell and Lady Mayoress Patsy Mitchell.
Mansion House manager Fanchea Gibson said: "It will be lovely to have a baby living in the house." The couple have two other daughters, Ailbhe (6) and Briona (4).
