New €200m terminal is 'eerily' quiet

Cork Airport's new €200m terminal complex was eerily quiet as only a handful of hopeful passengers milled around the near-empty building.
Those that travelled to the airport in hope had those travel dreams dashed by the computerised arrival and departure boards -- with every single Cork flight listed as being cancelled.
Passengers are advised to consult their airline's website before coming to the airport to obtain up-to-date information regarding their flight.
Amongst those anxiously trying to re-arrange travel plans were soccer fans who had planned trips to Liverpool, London and Manchester for matches this weekend.
Most were last night hoping to be accommodated on ferry services out of Cork, Rosslare and Dublin.
