CELEBRITY chef Neven McGuire was all smiles yesterday as he urged businesses across Ireland to fast for a day to raise funds for the Bothar charity's 40-day fast.
Kicking off the campaign in Limerick, the owner of MacNean House and Restaurant in Co Cavan is calling on companies and their employees to ditch the knives and forks for just one day over Lent -- starting on March 9 -- and not eat anything that day.
He has designed special 'Last Supper' and 'Victory Dinner' menus for participants to enjoy before and after their fast. Funds raised from the campaign will go towards shipping 35 Irish dairy cattle to families in Mukono, Uganda.
Participants can choose any one of the 40 days of Lent to help struggling families in the developing world. Those interested can contact the charity on 1850 82 99 99.
