NAMA is to provide €3m in funding for work on ghost estates linked to it.
A spokesperson for the Government agency which is buying up property loans of developers from the banks said he hoped repair work could kick off in September.
He added a longer-term solution to address a clean-up of hundreds of ghost estates around the country is also being discussed with the Goverment.
The funding comes after the Government committed €5m towards remedial work on the estates which is being provided through local authorities.
