Murder inquiry launched after woman's body found in bag on Dublin street

Gardai have launched a murder inquiry following the discovery of a woman's body in a holdall on a north Dublin street.

The body was discovered around 8.30am this morning by a passer-by on Blackhorse Avenue in Dublin 7.







The large holdall bag with wheels and a handle had been left beside a car at St David's Terrace, close to the North Circular Road. It is believed it was left there last night.







The age and identity of the woman, who is reported to be black, is not known.





The area has been sealed off by gardai and traffic diversions are in place.
