The elderly father-in-law of an Irishman who was shot dead in South Africa with his wife, will appear in court today.
Dubliner Kevin McGuirk (53) who ran a diving school near Johannesburg, died on Monday with his wife Kim (34).
Kim’s father Edwin Topping was appearing at Alberton Magistrates Court this morning charged with the double murder.
Police said he had declined to give an explanation for the killings and had sought a lawyer.
When they arrived at the scene of the murders Mr Topping confessed to them. The bodies were found in the couple’s bedroom. Kevin McGuirk had been shot in the back and his wife had been shot in the head.
