Munster men finish charity cycle for coach
Tributes have been paid to Paul Darbyshire, the former head of strength and conditioning with Munster rugby, by the group of athletes and volunteers who cycled across the country to raise money for his wife and four children.
Despite the devastating news of Mr Darbyshire's passing away on Monday, the sports stars completed the three-day charity race in his honour, arriving at Trinity College last night after travelling from Cork to Limerick and then to Dublin with the goal of raising €100,000.
Mr Darbyshire (41), who had played rugby league with Warrington, was diagnosed with motor neurone disease last year but continued working with Munster after the illness emerged.
Among those who took part were Munster players Denis Fogarty, Tony Buckley, Ian Dowling, Billy Holland, Darragh Hurley as well as John Fogarty and Eoin Reddan of Leinster.
