Mum of two killed in three-car crash
A MOTHER of two who was well known in amateur drama circles was killed in a car crash on her way to work yesterday, writes Eimear Ni Bhraonain.
Marie Johnston (48) died in the collision at 8.30am at Tinnock, Oulart, Co Wexford.
Mrs Johnston, from Monamolin, Co Wexford, was driving to work at a solicitors' firm in New Ross. Three vehicles were involved in the collision which also left two other drivers with minor injuries.
Local councillor George Lawlor described Mrs Johnston as a "lovely lady" who was "extremely well liked".
"She was a wonderful actress," he said.
"She was known in drama circles all over Ireland. She was heavily involved in the Kilmuckridge Drama Festival and group."
Mrs Johnston is survived by her husband, Michael, her two children, Karen and Lisa, and their extended family.
