A MOTHER who found out her only son had been killed in an accident in Thailand received flowers from him on Saturday for Mother's Day, write Carolin Crawford and John Fallon.
Father-of-three Niall Walsh (33), from Cullairbaun, Athenry, Co Galway, died in a motorbike accident on Friday.
His parents Liam and Teresa were informed of the tragedy that night. The following day flowers were delivered to their home from their son, ordered shortly before he died. He had moved to Thailand last year with his girlfriend.
Mr Walsh died when he was knocked off his motorbike by a car. Another car then hit him, causing fatal injuries. Arrangements are being made to have his body flown home. Mr Walsh was father to Jack (8), Dylan (4) and 18-month-old Milly (1). He was to return to Ireland in May for Jack's First Communion.
