Mr Tayto looks to bag Ireland footy job
MARTIN O'Neill might be the hot favourite for the top job in Irish football. However, that won't stop some of the lesser-favoured candidates from giving it a go.
Paddy Power has the former Celtic manager at odds of 1/5 to succeed Giovanni Trapattoni, with Mick McCarthy at 6/1 and his nemesis Roy Keane at 18/1. The rank outsider is Mr Tayto at 500/1.
That hasn't stopped the crisp icon from offering his services to the FAI telling John Delaney that he could offer his spud-like services "as cheap as chips".
Mr Tayto admitted he has been eyeing up the job for some time.
"He's been vying for the job for a few years and will he hoping John Delaney chooses him," said a spokesman as Mr Tayto demonstrated his ball skills yesterday.
"Denis O'Brien wouldn't have to put any money on the table – he'd be as cheap as chips," added his spokesman.
