Motorists warned of 60km oil spill heading into Limerick City

Motorists in and around Limerick City are been asked to take care as authorities deal with a 60 kilometre long oil spill this afternoon.
The oil, believed to have come from the back of a truck heading east from Addeyfeale, extends all the way to the city centre and out towards the Condell road, heading towards Clare.

Work crews from Limerick City and County Council and Limerick Fire and Rescue Service are currently dealing with the incident, and a spokesperson for Limerick City Council said: “Motorists should be cautious as the spill is close to 60 kilometres long.”
“The fire service is doing its best to make the road safe but anyone heading out should take care.”
