A MOTORIST in her 60s has died after she was crushed by her own car.

Gardai are trying to establish how the woman ended up under her blue Ford Fiesta on a residential street.

The woman was discovered on Millbourne Avenue, Drumcondra, north Dublin, at about 1.15pm.

She was rushed to The Mater Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators have appealed for anyone in the area from 12.30pm, particular near the library, to come forward.

Elsewhere, a motorcyclist in his late 20s was killed when he collided with a dumper truck.

The collision happened at Drumgart, Belturbet, Co Cavan, at approximately 11.25am.

And gardai have also named a teenager who died in hospital last night, three days after he was injured in a road crash.

Ciaran Quigley, 17, from Redcross, Co Limerick, was a passenger in a car that collided with another vehicle at Grange Cross, Tipperary Road, at 9pm on Saturday.

A number of other people were also injured in the incident.
