Motorcyclist killed in Cavan road collision with dumper truck

A MALE motorcyclist in his late 20’s was fatally injured when he collided with a dumper truck at Drumgart, Belturbet, Co. Cavan at approximately 11.25am today.

He was taken to Cavan General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the dumper truck was not injured.

The road is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and gardai have appealed for witnesses to contact Ballyconnell Garda Station on 049-9525580.

Meanwhile, a passenger who was seriously injured in a Limerick road crash on Saturday night has died.

Ciaran Quigley from Rearcross aged 17 years, was seriously injured in the collision and passed away yesterday at Limerick General Hospital.

A number of people were killed in the two car collision.
