Motorcyclist dies in road accident

GARDAI are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road accident yesterday morning that claimed the life of a motorcyclist.

Gardai in Wicklow are investigating the death of the man, who was in his 30s, after he suffered serious injuries when his motorcycle drove into a ditch at Military Road in the Wicklow Gap at 10.30am.

The victim, who has not been named, was taken by ambulance to Loughlinstown Hospital, Dublin, where he was pronounced dead. The man's death brings to 156 the number of people killed on the roads so far this year; 16 victims have been motorcyclists.
