Motorcyclist (25) killed when his bike collided with road sign

A 25-year-old motorcyclist was killed last night when his motor cycle collided with a road sign.

The crash occurred on the R689 at Fennor, Urlingford near the Tipperary/Kilkenny border at around 8.45pm yesterday.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Kilkenny Hospital.

A garda spokesperson said gardai are investigating the crash.

"This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place," the spokesperson said.
