Motorcyclist (25) killed in road traffic accident this evening

A 25-year-old motorcyclist was killed this evening in a road traffic collision.

The collision between a motor bike and a van occurred at around 6.15pm on the Nurney to Kildare Road close to Walterstown Cross in Kildare today.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to the morgue at Naas hospital, where a post mortem is expected to take place tomorrow.

The driver and passenger (both male) of the van were uninjured.

The road is closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.
