Morning commuters told to avoid Dublin's M50 due to extremely heavy traffic

Motorists on their morning commute in Dublin faced up to hour-long delays on the M50 this morning.
An incident which involved a truck over-turning on the ramp from the N7/Naas Road shortly after 6am has resulted in heavy traffic.
The lane has since re-opened but traffic remained heavy for hours, and is only now getting back to normality
“No improvement on M50 southbound; delays now from after J4 Ballymun to J9 Red Cow,” AA Roadwatch reported at 9am.
There wereup to hour-long delays on the M50 southbound from J3 M1 to J6 Blanchardstown.
Emergency services also closed one lane of the M50 southbound at Junction 9 for the Red Cow, although that has since opened.
Meanwhile, there was also a breakdown on the M50 southbound at J6 Blanchardstown blocking the right lane. The breakdown has been cleared delays remained for a time.
AA Roadwatch also report it to be 'very slow' to exit the M50 northbound at J7 Lucan onto the N4 outbound.
