More rain coming our way
THE long dry spell that dominated February is over, and we are deep into a soggy springtime.
More rain is on the way over the weekend, as the drizzle that has fallen for much of the week will stay with us.
There will be sunny spells today, but rain will continue to spread northwards later on, according to Met Eireann.
The thousands of fans attending Ireland's Six Nations clash with France at the Aviva Stadium late tomorrow afternoon can take solace in the fact that temperatures will remain mild, between 8C and 12C.
However, just like the England game last month, the weather will be wet. The match may be marred by showers expected along the east coast later in the day.
It will generally be a cold night with frost in northern areas.
Then daytime temperatures will plunge on Sunday to between 3C and 4C in the north and 6C to 7C in the south-west with a severe frost.
However, it is expected to remain dry and bright in most areas.
The start of next week will remain very cold, with wintry showers likely in the south and east.
