For anyone planning an Easter egg hunt this weekend, you may want to plan a contingency and organise it under cover.

Met Eireann is forecasting a mix of wind and rain to hit Ireland from tomorrow night.

“It’ll be quite a mixed bag. It’ll be changeable and unsettled overall for the weekend,” a forecaster told independent.ie. “There will be some rain or showers, and it’ll be windy, from time to time.”

“Tomorrow will be the best day. Temperatures will reach between 10 and 13 degrees. It’ll start off dry, and clear, and sunny in most places.”

However, the weather will have turned by tomorrow evening, the forecaster said.

“By tomorrow night it will have turned wet everywhere, and most of Saturday will be wet as well. The rain will clear to showers for most of the day.”

“On Sunday there could be hail or thunder, and temperatures will return to normal and below.”

Monday will also be mainly dry with scattered showers in a moderate to fresh westerly wind.

The further outlook in to the early days of next week is for continued cold unsettled weather with showers at times.
