Miriam O’Callaghan helps launch Irish choirs world record attempt

BROADCASTER Miriam O’Callaghan today helped launch a new Guiness World Record attempt by Irish choirs.

Stars, Choirs and Carols is a unique event which will take place in Dublin on Thursday 19th December 2013.

The event will see over 500 adult and school choirs gather together under the Croke Park roof to attempt to break a Guinness World Record by becoming the world’s largest group of Christmas Carol singers whilst raising funds for two Irish charities.

Cliona’s Foundation, a unique charity providing financial assistance for families with critically ill children in Ireland, and The Sanctuary, a charity bringing stillness and harmony into peoples’ lives will both benefit from the event.

Miriam O’Callaghan, who will lead the event, said: “Stars, Choirs and Carols promises to be an unforgettable festive evening of carols and fun while at the same time helping to support the work of two unique charities - all performing Christmas favourites, old and new, all performing Christmas favourites, old and new.

“Cliona’s Foundation which gives a financial lifeline to families with a critically ill child and the Sanctuary which brings peace, calm and hope to the lives of thousands of people including the most vulnerable young people in our society”

The GAA has given Croke Park over to the event for free on the day.
