Key trends for spring/summer include fantasy frocks and lots of cool whites, said fashion expert Paula Reed, as she showcased some new brands at Harvey Nichols in Dundrum, Co Dublin.
The statuesque, Derry-born model quit the catwalk to become a style correspondent and author. Last year, she left fashion bible 'Grazia' to take up a position as fashion director with the Harvey Nichols group. Trends to watch include colour print, the timeless tux and, of course, the peplum look that just won't go away, she said.
Meanwhile, model Teo Sutra showed off a mint green gown from Versace. With €1 change out of a grand, it's a heady mix of Miami meets Milan, cutaway halter shoulders, knee-high slash and the signature gold logo on the belt.
There was praise for Dublin designer Fiona Heaney, whose Fee G label has been such a success. "She has cornered her market and understands it really well," said Paula.
Also flying the Irish flag is Paula Rowan, whose leather gloves have become a must-have, while there are silk scarves from Susannagh Grogan and hats by Edel Ramberg from Galway.
