Minister's trip Down Under cost over €4,800
Children's Minister Frances Fitzgerald spent over €4,800 on travel on her St Patrick's Day junket to Australia and New Zealand.
The minister, who was accompanied by an official, published her expenses on the Department of Health website.
They took six flights in all, flying business class on the long-haul flights and economy on internal flights.
There were five overnight stays including two in the Irish ambassador's residence in Sydney. The others were stays at the Four Seasons Hotels, at €448 a night, and in the Copthorne hotel, Christchurch at €330.
She spent €169 on gifts for Australian dignitaries, €348 on transport costs and €7.18 on internet charges.
