Ministerial report cards back on table

TAOISEACH Enda Kenny's celebrated report cards on the performance of all his ministers are back on his table again.
The former school teacher announced on live television he would be keeping tabs on the Cabinet. But he then said his declaration was merely "a metaphor". In a further twist, Mr Kenny yesterday agreed with his Cabinet that he would indeed be compiling annual reports on their performance.
The Taoiseach's spokesman said each department would have to produce strategy statements on what policies have to be implemented during the lifetime of the Government.
And these will be reviewed on an annual basis. The reports will be compiled by the Department of the Taoiseach, with no independent verification on delivery of goals.
