Minister Burton's 'crackdown' on young job seekers

Ms Burton defended the move and said the measures will only apply in extreme cases.

Social Protection Minister Joan Burton has launched a new crackdown on young job seekers.

Ms Burton has further penalties for those who don't engage in the controversial job bridge programme.

It's emerged young job seekers who don't apply for or accept places on the internship scheme face having their dole cut.

A new report published today also reveals that young job seekers who don't upload their cvs to designated job websites may also be hit with penalties.

Ms Burton defended the move and said the measures will only apply in extreme cases.
