ten Wonder Women who have taken part in the annual Women's Mini Marathon every year for the past decade came together to celebrate the milestone.

The 2017 Vhi Women's Mini Marathon will see 35,000 women walk, jog or run through Dublin City on bank holiday June 5.

This year the hugely popular 10km event is issuing special medals to mark its 35th anniversary.

Approximately €203m has been raised for charity since its beginning in 1983.

About 40km of specially designed ribbon is used for the medals.

While the majority of runners are in the 25 to 45 age bracket, in the 2016 race there were more than 379 participants over 70 years old.
